About Silversong

​​Your Instructor

Sarah Silver is the owner and instructor of Silversounds Music Studio. She is a dedicated music educator and performer with 29 years of experience in violin, viola, and piano.

Sarah holds a Bachelor of Music in Performance from Eastern Kentucky University and is an alumna of the Kentucky Governor's School for the Arts.

Sarah has been teaching since 2014, working with students of all ages and experience levels. 

In addition to teaching, she maintains an active performance career. She has performed with professional ensembles including String Elegance, Electria, the Kentucky Bach Choir, Louisville Strings, and The Volare String Quartet, and regularly performs for weddings and events. She has also played in musical pit orchestras for productions such as The Wizard of Oz, Rumpelstiltskin, and Sweeney Todd.

Her teaching style is upbeat and motivating while also being patient, detailed, and thorough. She places a strong emphasis on building solid technique, while creating a positive learning environment. 

Outside of music, she initially began studying to become a snake biologist before ultimately choosing her path in music - something that reflects her natural curiosity and love of learning, which continues to influence her teaching today.​​​​​
